1. What are cookies and local storage
Cookies are small text files that websites save on the user's device. Similar technologies (such as browser localStorage or local app storage) allow information to be stored directly on the device. In this policy we use "cookies" to refer to all these technologies.
2. Cookies used by the website
The volleyfriends.com website does not install profiling, marketing or analytics cookies until you give your consent. Fonts, stylesheets, images and scripts of the website are hosted directly on our servers. The only external service called during navigation is Google Tag Manager (Google Ireland Ltd.), the container from which measurement tools are managed: loading it involves a request to the domain googletagmanager.com, which communicates the IP address and technical browser data to Google.
Google Tag Manager is loaded with Google's consent mode set to "denied" for all optional categories: until you make a choice from the banner, no tool contained within it can install cookies or read identifiers on your device. The only elements present before consent are:

If you authorise the Statistics category, in addition to the tools configured in the container, this first-party element is also stored on the device:

Without consent to the Statistics category, this element is not written: the origin of the visit remains in memory only for the current page and is lost when changing pages.
The Functional, Statistics and Marketing categories in the preferences panel are managed via Google Tag Manager and remain deactivated until you authorise them from the banner. If you authorise them, the tools configured in the container (for example, statistical measurement of visits) can install their own cookies, with the purposes and durations indicated by their respective providers. You can revoke your consent at any time from the cookie preferences: from revocation onwards, the tools will once again be unable to write anything, while cookies already installed must be deleted from the browser.
Subscription payment (court managers only): payment for the "Court Manager" plan takes place on pages hosted by Stripe (domain checkout.stripe.com), reached only when the user chooses to subscribe. On those pages, Stripe uses its own technical and anti-fraud cookies, necessary for secure payment processing, described in the Stripe cookie policy. During normal navigation on volleyfriends.com, no Stripe cookies are installed.
3. Local storage used by the app
The VolleyFriends app does not use cookies. It exclusively uses technical local storage on the device, necessary for its operation:

These elements are among the strictly necessary technical tools, for which consent is not required (Art. 122 of the Privacy Code). The app also integrates push notification services from Google (FCM) and Apple (APNs): the relative device token is processed as described in the Privacy policy.
3-bis. Local storage of the administration panel and management system
The web panel on admin.volleyfriends.com (reserved for administrators and court managers) does not use cookies: it exclusively uses technical local storage of the browser — session token, access role, language and display preferences (e.g. facility and court selected in the calendar). These elements are also strictly necessary for operation and do not require consent; they are deleted when logging out of the panel or clearing browser data.
4. Managing preferences
On your first visit to the website, a banner appears allowing you to accept all cookies, proceed with only the necessary ones or customise the categories. You can change your choice at any time:
You can also delete cookies and local storage from your browser settings. Disabling necessary technical elements may compromise the functioning of the website.
5. Updates
Any changes to this policy (for example, due to the introduction of new tools) will be published on this page with an updated version and, if they involve new processing subject to consent, the banner will be presented again.
