Terms and conditions of use

Version 1.2 — last updated: 29 July 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the access to and use of the VolleyFriends mobile application and the volleyfriends.com website (together, the "Service"), provided by Luigi Zotti, P.IVA 08776391214 (the "Provider"). By creating an account or using the Service, you fully accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

1. Subject of the Service

VolleyFriends is a platform for amateur volleyball that allows you to: search for and organise tournaments; create and manage teams; record match scores in real time (even offline); view standings and brackets; receive notifications related to your activity; and, for sports facility managers, register facilities and receive booking requests.

2. Registration and accounts

  • Registration requires truthful and up-to-date details; you are responsible for the accuracy of the data entered, including the date of birth used to validate age categories.
  • The Service is restricted to those who are at least 16 anni old (between 14 and 16 anni, the consent of a parent or guardian is required).
  • You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for any activity carried out through your account. In the event of unauthorised access, you must inform us promptly.
  • Each person may register only one personal account.

3. Rules of use

You agree not to: (a) enter false personal details or alter them to bypass tournament restrictions (age categories, gender quotas) — the system records relevant changes for anti-fraud purposes; (b) record intentionally false scores; (c) use the Service for unlawful, offensive or defamatory purposes; (d) attempt to access other people's systems, data or accounts; (e) interfere with the technical operation of the Service (bulk scraping, attacks, bypassing limitations); (f) upload content for which you do not own the rights.

4. Tournaments, results and the role of organisers

  • Tournaments are created and managed by the organisers, who are solely responsible for rules, entry fees (collected directly at the venue), prizes, insurance coverage and compliance related to the sporting event.
  • The Provider provides the technological platform and is not a party to the relationship between the organiser and the participants, nor is it responsible for the running of the events.
  • Match results are recorded by the designated referees and confirmed by the opposing captain ("double confirmation"); in the event of a dispute, the organiser decides based on the complete points log.
  • Participation in sports activities involves inherent risks: assess your physical fitness; the Provider is not responsible for any injuries or damage occurring during the events.

5. Facility managers: subscriptions and management software

  • Managers can register their facilities by subscribing to one of the piani "Gestore campi" offered on the website's pricing page. The name, monthly price (including VAT), included features and any limits of each plan are those indicated at the time of subscription; the features available in the management software depend on the active plan.
  • Payment and renewal: payment is made via Stripe (credit/debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay) with rinnovo automatico mensile. The amount is charged at each renewal to the specified payment method. Receipts are issued via Stripe and are available in the customer portal.
  • Cancellation: possible at any time from the subscription management portal (accessible from the app, Manager Area → "Gestisci abbonamento" section). Cancellation takes effect from the expiry of the period already paid for, with no subsequent renewal; until that date, the features remain active, after which the VERIFIED badge, the ability to publish facilities and the management software features will lapse (the entered data remains viewable).
  • Right of withdrawal: if the manager acts as a consumer, they may withdraw within 14 days of the first subscription by writing to youcan@connectyourlife.it, with a refund of the amount paid; by subscribing to the plan, the manager requests the immediate execution of the service and, in the event of withdrawal, the refund may be reduced in proportion to the service already used.
  • Non-payment: in the event of a failed charge, the subscription status changes to "pending"; if payment is not successful in subsequent attempts, the subscription is cancelled and the dedicated features will lapse.
  • Any changes to the price or composition of the plans will be communicated with at least 30 days' notice and will take effect from the next renewal; the manager may cancel before the new conditions are applied.
  • The manager guarantees the accuracy of the facility's data and that they are authorised to represent it.

5-bis. Management software: customer data, earnings and API

  • Manager's customer data: by registering bookings in the management software (name, phone, email, amounts of their customers), the manager acts as the titolare del trattamento of that data and guarantees that they have an appropriate legal basis to enter it. The Provider stores and protects it on behalf of the manager as a responsabile del trattamento ex art. 28 GDPR, as described in the Privacy policy, and does not use it for its own purposes.
  • Manager's earnings: payments for bookings are made direttamente sugli strumenti del gestore (their own Stripe account, PayPal, bank transfer to the specified IBAN, or cash). The Provider does not collect, hold or transfer funds of the manager's customers and is not a party to such transactions; tax and accounting obligations on earnings remain entirely the responsibility of the manager. Any configured Stripe key is stored encrypted and can be removed at any time from the settings.
  • API for external systems: the API keys generated by the management software are personal: the manager is responsible for keeping them secure, for their use by connected systems, and for revoking them in the event of compromise. The use of APIs is subject to technical limits (rate limiting) and these Terms; abusive use may result in the revocation of the keys.

6. User-generated content

You remain the owner of the content you enter (photos, descriptions, team and tournament names). You grant the Provider a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, reproduce and display it as part of the operation of the Service (e.g. displaying standings, public tournament pages). We reserve the right to remove content reported as unlawful or contrary to these Terms.

7. Suspension and closure of the account

We may suspend or close accounts in the event of a breach of these Terms, fraudulent use, abusive behaviour towards other users or risks to the security of the platform, giving notice where possible. You can delete your account at any time from the app (Profile → Privacy → Delete account): your data will be processed as described in the Privacy policy.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, the VolleyFriends brand, the software, graphics and original content are owned by the Provider or its respective licensors. Any unauthorised reproduction or use outside the normal use of the Service is prohibited.

9. Availability of the Service and modifications

The Service is provided "as is" as part of an evolving business: interruptions may occur due to maintenance, updates or technical reasons. We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue features, giving notice of any material changes. The basic Service is currently free for players; any future paid features will be clearly indicated.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Provider is not liable for: indirect or consequential damages; loss of data due to causes beyond the Provider's control; content and behaviour of users or organisers; temporary unavailability of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for intent or gross negligence, nor any mandatory rights granted to consumers by law.

11. Modifications to the Terms

We may update these Terms; material changes will be communicated via the app or by email with reasonable notice. Your use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of them. If you do not accept the changes, you can stop using the Service and delete your account.

12. Applicable law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Italian law. For consumer users, the court of the consumer's place of residence or domicile has jurisdiction, where mandatory by law; in all other cases, jurisdiction lies with the court of the Provider's registered office. This is without prejudice to the possibility of using the European online dispute resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).
